Over the last couple of months, we’ve been surveying our alumni so that we can improve the service we offer you, particularly when it comes to content.

We sent the survey to our entire alumni community and as a result we discovered:

  • 69% of graduates who responded to the survey are interested in research, news and thought leadership content from the industry they work in.
  • 61% of graduates who responded to the survey are interested in research, news and thought leadership content related to their field of study.
  • 45% of graduates who responded to the survey want to attend events.
  • 33% of graduates who responded to the survey are interested in career development advice.

We also asked our alumni how they would like to be communicated with. The top results were:

  • Email
  • eNewsletters
  • Alumni website/portal
  • LinkedIn
  • Events

We also got some insight into our Alumni Library Online and Alumni Directory services. A key insight is that a large number of alumni said they would be interested in these services but a comparatively low number were using these services.

And finally, we also asked a Net Promoter Score question to gain an understanding of how our alumni feel about their experience at Cranfield. The answers from those who responded to the survey gave us a Net Promoter Score of 35.

You said, we did

As a result, our eNewsletters will focus on research, news and thought leadership content and include information on key events. We will be looking at our Alumni Library Online and Alumni Directory services to try and understand why there is a difference between the number who want to use them and the number who do use them. And also we want to understand the 'why' behind the Net Promoter Score so we can bring the voice of the customer to the front of everything we do.

In the meantime, we are planning some marketing communications to ensure our alumni know about the benefits they can access. For example, Rachel Daniels recently wrote an article on how you can use the Alumni Library Online to follow up on content from a conference you have attended and you can browse our latest event listing.
