Ted TuppenTed Tuppen CBE MBA 1981, distinguished alumnus 2005 and CEO of Enterprise Inns comments on his organisation receiving a top award .

Enterprise Inns, the leading specialist operator of leased and tenanted pubs, has been awarded the top accolade for people development by Investors in People (IIP). The company was judged to have gained the Gold Standard following their recent reassessment for accreditation, joining a select group of just 5% of companies nationally who have been recognised by IIP for achieving the top standard and becoming one of only half a dozen similarly recognised businesses in the West Midlands.

Enterprise, which employs around 550 people, first achieved the Investor in People standard just over ten years ago and has consistently aimed to drive improving business performance by focussing on its people, leading to its most recent accreditation at the Gold Standard. Investors in People’s Derek Bawden commented, “Enterprise is a business with real strengths, values and a strong culture. Its people are relaxed and informal yet highly professional and quite dynamic. There was ample evidence of strong leadership throughout the organisation.”

Ted said “I am extremely proud that Enterprise has been recognised in this way, reflecting the commitment and values of our team. This award shows just how much we have continued to adapt, develop and work closer together – attributes which are even more important in today’s tough marketplace.”
