Alumni from our manufacturing and materials related postgraduate programmes attended the first Manufacturing, Materials and Design (M-M-D) Alumni Day at Cranfield University on 20 May 2013.

The programme consisted of alumni speakers talking about their business sector, challenges they are facing and how Cranfield could support their professional activities. Speakers included:

Emeritus Professor Pat McKeown OBE also spoke with Professor Rajkumar Roy after the event.

Cranfield Manufacturing facilities tour took place during the afternoon, followed by the Alumni Annual Lecture - The future for Great British manufacturing: the role of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, delivered by Clive Hickman, Chief Executive of the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). Clive has been Chief Executive of the MTC since January 2011. Previously he was the Chief Executive of Tata Motors European Technical Centre plc, responsible for all engineering development on passenger car and commercial vehicles, including the people's car ŒNano and the Vista Electric Vehicle.

The Manufacturing, Materials and Design (M-M-D) Alumni Dinner took place in the Cranfield Management Development Centre.
