The 2014 M-M-D day was held on 20 May 2014.

  • Alumni Annual Lecture: Impact of cyber on manufacturing companies now and in the future by Speaker: Russell Cameron, Business Director, Security and Intelligence at Atkins. Russell reviewed the impact of cyber on British industry and gave a demonstration of how an industrial control system might be hacked. He then looked forward to the challenge faced by business leaders in dealing with the threat and proposed how a holistic approach can result in competitive advantage. Russell studied for a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management at Cranfield University during 1982-84. He has had a very successful career in manufacturing working for companies including Ericsson, GEC, Price Waterhouse and Alstom before joining Atkins Management Consultants. He now leads their very successful Security and Intelligence Business. He works closely with UK Intelligence agencies and has extensive experience in advising manufacturing companies against cyber threats.
