MBA’s enterprise honoured by home town Cobalt Telephone Technologies, parent company of the UK’s leading cashless parking service, RingGo, has been honoured by the Mayor of Basingstoke, Councillor Brian Gurden, as he singled out the company to receive the 2009/10 Mayor’s Award to Business, in recognition of the contribution the company has made to life in Basingstoke. The ceremony took place as part of the Annual Council meeting, on Thursday, 20 May 2010, in Basingstoke Council Chambers.
Cobalt follows in the footsteps of some of Basingstoke’s most famous companies in receiving this award, which is made to a single business by the outgoing Mayor. Previous recipients include De La Rue, Motorola and Eli Lilly. With just 34 employees, Cobalt which is run and owned by Harry Clarke (MBA 91) and Joanna Miller (MBA 2005) is one of the smallest companies to receive the award in its 10 year history.
