Making Tough Choices: How to decide when everything seems important
Decision-making in organisational settings is rarely simple. Leaders must balance cost, risk, sustainability, performance, ethics, and stakeholder expectations under uncertainty and tight deadlines. Traditional single-metric approaches are insufficient when trade-offs are unavoidable and objectives conflict. This public lecture introduces the principles and practical applications of multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) as a structured framework for navigating complexity. The lecture will explain how MCDM methods enable decision makers to evaluate alternatives across multiple, often competing criteria in a transparent and analytically rigorous manner."
