About Rocchetta Mattei
Rocchetta Mattei is a stunning 19th-century castle nestled in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, in Grizzana Morandi, near Bologna. Built by Count Cesare Mattei, the castle is famous for its eclectic architecture, blending medieval, Moorish, Gothic, and Liberty styles into a dreamlike structure.
Originally conceived as a residence and center for the Count’s alternative medical practice, electrohomeopathy, Rocchetta Mattei has since become a cultural landmark. Today, it hosts exhibitions, concerts, and guided tours, offering visitors a glimpse into its fascinating history and architectural splendor.
