We are delighted to be able to invite alumni to the next webinar in our Ideas, Insight and Innovation series. This panel will discuss ‘Hydrogen – will it take over the world?’.

There are many places and applications where electricity/electrification will dominate the future of energy, but there are a significant number of so called “hard to abate” uses where a chemical replacement for fossil fuels is essential. Amongst these are heavy transport (trucks, trains, tractor units), flight, and industrial heating (and domestic use in some cases). Hydrogen or it’s derivatives such as ammonia is a likely solution in these cases which has led to an explosion (excuse the pun) in activity in this area from research bodies and industry.

Cranfield is leading the charge in many of the areas, working on areas from production to distribution to application.

In this panel we’ll talk about what we’re up to, outlining the challenges and current status of our research and our technology developments, and how we think the hydrogen economy will develop in the UK and internationally over the coming years.
