Unrivalled links with business

Our closeness to industry has been truly showcased over the last couple of months. Here are some highlights:

• Our collaboration with Severn Trent was named by Nature as one of the top 100 global corporate/academic partnerships.
• We launched the Female FTSE Board Report 2018, in partnership with Aviva. Hear Professor Sue Vinnicombe CBE discussing what can be done to improve the number of women in senior roles.
• A new concept in personal air mobility was unveiled called 'Volante' which is designed by Aston Martin, researched by us, engineered by Cranfield Aerospace Solutions and powered by Rolls-Royce – watch it take to the sky. 
• Our collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society to recruit and train the UK's first garden water scientist.
• Our partnership with BAE Systems to further enhance the UK's engineering skills.
• The autonomous 1965 Ford Mustang, modified by Cranfield and Siemens, made history as the first autonomous vehicle to make the famous hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July – watch the video.
• Being chosen by the Defence Growth Partnership (DGP) to be the education provider for the Defence Enterprise Export Programme (DEEP).
• Being selected by Airbus to host their prestigious Airnovation Summer Academy.
