In recent weeks, the HBOS Reading bank fraud has been in the news, where the bankers involved were sentenced to long prison terms for defrauding customers and destroying their businesses and lives.  You might be less aware that legal action on this case is still ongoing, as the board of HBOS is now in the frame, with allegations that they knew about the fraud and did not act.

There has also been media coverage of the mis-selling of financial products to SMEs, leading again to the destruction of businesses and lives.  This too is the subject of litigation.

Three of the protagonists on the SME side will be at Cranfield on 31 May to talk about what happened and what is happening in an event hosted by Ruth Bender, Professor of Corporate Financial Strategy.
